Nose Aesthetics (Rhinoplasty)
Rhinoplasty, also known as nose surgery, is a surgical procedure that aims to improve the shape and structure of the nose both aesthetically and functionally. This procedure can correct visual issues such as a curved nose, drooping nasal tip, asymmetry, large nostrils, and deviated nasal passages, as well as functional issues such as breathing difficulties.
Rhinoplasty surgeries are generally performed using either an open or closed technique. In the closed technique, incisions are made inside the nostrils, leaving no external scars. In the open technique, a small incision is made in the area between the nostrils, called the columella, and this scar is almost imperceptible after healing. The appropriate technique is determined by the patient's needs and the nasal structure. The surgery is performed under general anesthesia and takes approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours.
While the healing process varies from person to person, swelling, bruising, and nasal congestion are normal in the first few days. Full remodeling takes a few months. This period may be longer, depending on skin type.
After the operation, the nose becomes more compatible with the face; the patient feels better aesthetically and can breathe more easily.
Rhinoplasty not only improves a person's appearance but also provides positive psychological effects. It contributes to increased self-confidence and a greater sense of comfort in social situations. If you have any aesthetic or functional concerns about your nose, rhinoplasty offers a permanent and effective solution.
